I have a gardening tip for you. Clay soil can be frustrating for gardeners. Instead of draining well, it often becomes dense, compacted, and difficult for roots to grow. It may also have high pH levels or hold onto salts from fertilizers. Squeeze a moist handful of soil, if it clumps tightly and stays together, you likely have clay-heavy soil. The best fix is adding organic matter like compost or leaf mold. This loosens dense soil, improves drainage, enriches nutrients, and even attracts helpful earthworms. Gypsum is another option to reduce compaction and help water and nutrients reach roots. Mulch protects the soil surface and adds organic matter over time, while cover crops, such as daikon radishes and alfalfa work their long roots to aerate the soil naturally. If your clay soil is too alkaline, elemental sulfur can slowly lower pH. Test your soil every few years, apply amendments annually, and avoid compacting it by walking on garden beds. Aerating every few years and considering raised beds or containers can also make gardening with clay soil much easier and more productive.

Got a minute? That’s all this joke needs. It’s entitled “Misunderstood.”

Rebecca, the oldest sister, had made a vegan salad for dinner and served it to everyone. As the family sat down, the father noticed his five-year-old daughter, Heidi, poking at his plate.

“Heidi, stop playing with my food!”

Heidi stayed quiet through dinner. After the meal, the father asked:

“Why were you messing with my salad?”

“Sorry, Dad... I was just trying to get the moth out.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from a world citizen
