Lianna Rebolledo is a passionate pro-life advocate and the founder of the non-profit organization “Loving Life.” Her organization offers support programs focused on preventing abuse and assisting survivors. Ms. Rebolledo knows the painful consequences of being a victim of such violence. When she was a 12-year-old girl, she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. This caused immense suffering and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that resulted in her attempting suicide. Upon surviving this attempt, the doctor told her that she was pregnant. Ms. Rebolledo recalls the conversation that she had with her doctor.

“I just didn’t know why he was telling me that abortion will be the solution. So, I asked him, ‘If I have an abortion, will this take away the rape? Will this take away the nightmares? Will this un-rape me?’ And he said, no. So then I said, ‘So I don't see the point of having an abortion if it's not going to help me to forget what I went through.’ And the thing is, if I’m pregnant, this means that I have a baby inside of me.”

“She (my daughter) did not have to pay the consequences for something that she didn’t do. And why would I give her the death penalty? We need to punish the rapists, not the babies. And my baby, she was not a reminder of what happened. She was a reminder of the love that she has for me and that I have for her. She reminds me that everything is possible, and she gave me hope.”

“When you choose life, when you choose from love, when you choose from your heart, there's no way you are making a mistake. There’s no way you can do wrong. And women, sometimes they only need to hear that they will make it, that everything is possible. They’re not alone, and everything will pass. And they will overcome the situation that they’re going through right now.” “This language that they (abortion providers) use, like, ‘They already destroyed your life, who’s going to care for you? Nobody’s going to love you, you are not worthy anymore.’ We need to change that.”

“We need to change the way we are raising our kids, because we’re just teaching little girls to defend themselves. But we’re not teaching boys to protect women, to respect women, and to end this violence.” “By educating our kids, talking to our kids, telling them about principal values –Respect, Love, and God. And the moment we left God out of our house, that’s when all these violence came in, because we’re not taking care of them.

So, it’s just really important that we do more laws to help women who are going through all these situations so they can have legal help, like medical attention, and they can also have financial to keep going to school. And shelters. They need that so much. They need to be protected.”
